ENGLISH Students learnt the skill of retelling the story in the Unit-‘Gingerbread Man.’ They made a colourful and vivid picture description of the story-‘Gingerbread Man’ and created Flash Cards during a group task and used them for narration of the story.The concept of ‘Describing Words ’which was already taken up in the month of October was further fostered with the activity ‘Rumble in the Jungle ’which not only brushed up their learning of the concept of Describing Words but also invoked their listening skills. The concept of This/That& These/Those were also introduced. The children had a gala time presenting the puppet show which they learnt during the integration of Dramatics with Verbal Linguistic multiple intelligence. This was done to enhance their Communication and Presentation skills. The class also enjoyed the integration of Visual Arts with English Language as the children made beautiful paper puppets. HINDI छात्रों को बिंदी की सहायता से अनुस्वार (अं मात्रा) का परिचय दिया गया और इसका उच्चारण सिखाया गया | सब बच्चों ने घंटी के प्रतिरूप को सजाया | छात्रों ने इससे दो और तीन अक्षर वाले शब्द लिखते हुए वाक्य रचना की | छात्रों को “अनुस्वार” व “अनुनासिक” मात्रा का अंतर बताते हुए “अनुनासिक”मात्रा का उच्चारण सिखाया गया |सब बच्चों को बताया गया कि केवल मुहँ से हवा बाहर आने पर अनुस्वार और मुहँव नासिका (नाक) दोनों से हवा बाहर आने पर अनुनासिक मात्रा का प्रयोग होता है | बच्चों ने दो और तीन अक्षर वाले शब्द लिखते हुए वाक्य रचना की | छात्रों को पाठ –“सुंदर हंस” और “नाचे ऊँट” का पठन करवाया गया | छात्रों की“अनुनासिक” व “अनुनासिक” मात्रा से पहचान हुई और उनके शब्दकोष में वृद्धि हुई | MATH Students were introduced to the ‘Time’ concept in their Math lessons. They understood the difference between analog and digital clock. Students learnt to tell time using the analog clock. During the Math-Science and Art Integration Week, students made an analog clock using paper plates which they used to tell the time in class. They also made a beautiful calendar and learnt how to mark a special day on it. The students performed an activity by using their hands as minute and hour hands to tell the time. The concept of data handling was taught by using picture graphs and how to organize the data. EVS In EVS lesson, students understood the need and importance of transportation by way of class discussion and watching videos. As a class activity, they drew different modes of transport and understood their differences. The safety rules were explained using various examples and as part of a group task they made beautiful posters of safety rules which was part of Math –Science and Art Integration Week. Students also started their inquiry into the topic ‘Communication by a ‘Telephone’ game where everybody sat in a circle and talked to their partners based on a situation slip given to them. They also learnt about different means of communication. ICT Students understood the different parts of paint window and basic tools in MS-Paint. They also learnt how to save the paint file and open a previously saved file. ART & POTTERY In Art class, the students drew a ship in an ocean and coloured with pastel and pencils. They also drew and coloured a clock and made a paper boat and coloured. In Clay modelling class they made fish and boats using slabs made of natural clay. INDIAN MUSIC In the month of November, the students enhanced their singing and instrumental skills through the following songs and instruments. Name of the song:‘Potato song',‘Sa sai sang’, ‘Listen to my SwarTarang’ Instruments played: Shaker, Swartarang, Combination of Harmonium,Tanpura. Sangeet 4all activities: Vocal warm-up with Sargam in different scales, SaRe- a body game, Aa Oo Umm Chanting, Story ‘Narada’ They presented a melodious prayer song in the assembly -‘Hamko man ki Shakti Dena' WESTERN MUSIC In the month of November,the students learnt: Name of the song: ‘’Feliz Navidad” Christmas carol (Spanish version) Instruments played: Guitar, Piano Exercises done: Daily vocal warm up with Musical alphabet (Musical Solfa) DANCE The students learnt the basics of Indian classical (Kathak), semi-classical and western dance forms. They learnt how to emote different gestures, posture through body language and facial expressions. They also learnt Guru Vandana, Tatkaar (basic footwork), Hastak (basic hand-movements ) of kathak. For more understanding about rhythm, they learnt ‘teen taal’ as all Kathak basics are on ‘teen taal’.Apart from that they learnt the choreography on Christmas song ‘I Only Want You for Christmas’. DRAMA Students learnt various forms of acting in drama classes, like mood, gesture, posture, facial expressions, laughter, anger, sadness with the help of stories and their characters such as ‘The Falcon and the Crow’, ‘The small boat in the Sea’, ‘The Harmit Jumping Rat’. Drama games were also introduced like as ‘My name is Jack’,‘The Creature’ and ‘The Splat’. PHYSICAL EDUCATION BODILY KINAESTHETIC
Robotics Unit Topic: FLOATING AND SINKING Activity 4: SAIL OR DROWN AWAY In this session, students studied the effect on the surface area of an object when it is dropped in the water, they explored different ways to make a material float. They also studied about the design process to create a dense but floatable object by investing that a clay ball sinks in water but by increasing the surface area of clay by creating a ship out of the same and observed the difference. Activity 5: Maker session( Sail Boat Challenge - Day 1 & 2) In this session, students recalled the properties of an object which make it sink or float. Introduction to the problem statement- Can they cross a river without using any mode of transport. Students were given the challenge to design and build a boat by recalling all the properties of the object that can float and hold the weight of 5 coins. They first designed the 2D sketch of the boat and listed out the material required to create a boat and then they made a boat and tested in water. Lifeskills “RESPECT” is one of the important soft skills in life skills. To support the better understanding and learning students watched a video. The class discussion was held on what students understand by the word respect. How do they observe it globally?This facilitated them to treat others the way they want others to treat them.
