English The Unit-‘Jack and the Special Beans’ was introduced with an activity ‘Movie time’ where the children were shown the movie’ Jack and the Beanstalk’ on the smart class.This was done to simultaneously acquaint them with the various characters and the different settings of the scenes in the story. The children completed the unit with focus on individual reading & comprehension. Taking forward the ritual of learning Dolch Words in the class, the Dolch list was given to the children & Oral drill of the Dolch Words was taken up in the class to help the children achieve reading fluency in the English Language. The recapitulation of grammar concepts like ‘Conjunctions’ and ‘Adjectives ’was done to reinforce the learning which has taken place in the previous months. Math The concept of comparing 3 digit numbers was introduced by a short number comparison problem. Students were given a number card to play the number race game to identify the before and after number. Number cards were also used to identify the greatest and smallest number. Students were asked to make a line height wise and then they were asked about the formation of ascending and descending order. ICT The students learnt about the different storage devices like CD/DVD, Pendrive, memory card, hard disk. They understood the difference between storage places and storage devices. The students also practiced typing in tux typing during the lab lessons. Indian Music The students practiced for Annual function. Western Music The students practiced for Annual day. Dance Students learnt story-based dance on Jungle book theme.‘Jungle- it’s a beautiful place’, showing the beauty of the green jungle and the animals. They also learnt about different characters of Jungle book like Mowgli, Bageera ,Sher Khan, Ballu etc and learnt the steps and body language of different animals like monkeys, zebra, giraffe, elephant, deer and many more through dance and expressions. English The children learnt factual writing in the Unit-‘All About Foxes.’ They also learnt how to design the front book cover of a book. To foster this learning they made colourful mini books, designed a book cover and wrote one fact each about the topic chosen. ‘All About Penguin’, ‘All About Starfish’ and ‘All About Panda’ were some of the mini books made by our talented kids.As part of a group task, they created related ‘Flash cards’ to enhance their vocabulary. The concept of ‘Helping Verbs’ was introduced in grammar and they practiced with the ‘Coffee Jar’ activity which was loved by the children. Barter system was also explained by an activity of exchanging things. Denominations used in Indian currency were shown to the students. Addition and subtraction of money was done by role play where students acted as buyers and customers. EVS The students were introduced to the topic ‘Air’ by breathing exercise. Highlighting the importance of air for our life, different properties of air were explained using balloon and candle experiment. Different uses of water were discussed in the class. They understood the difference between surface and underground water. To provide them an opportunity to share their understanding they were asked to draw different sources of water. ICT The students are learning the MS Paint application in their ICT lessons. They learnt how to use brush tool, fill colours and eraser tool. They enjoyed practicing drawing and colouring various patterns. They also learnt that all living things respond to changes by playing ‘Pass on game.’ Activity 2: Thirsty Bottle - (A- Air) In this session, students understood that air is everywhere around us and investigated that air occupies space which contains oxygen and is needed by living things. They performed an activity to understand that fire also needs oxygen which is present in the air and without air fire will not take place. Activity 3: Digestive System- (E-Eat) In this session, students learnt about the digestive system and organs which are responsible for digestion. They also studied how the food that we eat moves through our digestive system and gives energy. They also understood the passage of food through the digestive system. Art & Pottery Clay captivates a child’s interest for hours, and it has a calming effect. The students made clay birds, plants, flowers with leaves, Christmas tree, Santa face and Santa cap.There is no better moment than witnessing their joy as they sit at the potter’s wheel, place their wet hands on slowly spinning clay. Dance Students learnt basics of Indian classical (Kathak) and freestyle dance form. They learnt how to emote different gestures, posture through body language and facial expressions. They also learnt guru vandana, tatkaar , Hastakin kathak dance form.To learn about expressions they practised Navras- nine emotions of dance. For more understanding about rhythm,they learnt about teen taal as all Kathak basics are on teen taal.Apart from that, they have learnt the choreography on Christmas song by the name “I only want you for Christmas”. Drama Students learnt various forms of acting like mood, gesture, posture, facial expressions,laughter, anger and sadness with the help of stories and their characters such as God’s Blessings, The Poet and the Rich man, ‘The Birbal and the Elephant’. Life Skills Learning about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, staying independent and organised, the students compiled the key skills as a poster ‘7 Habits of Happy Kids.’ They expressed their thoughts and ideas required to be followed in order to lead a healthy and hearty life. ENGLISH Students learnt the skill of retelling the story in the Unit-‘Gingerbread Man.’ They made a colourful and vivid picture description of the story-‘Gingerbread Man’ and created Flash Cards during a group task and used them for narration of the story.The concept of ‘Describing Words ’which was already taken up in the month of October was further fostered with the activity ‘Rumble in the Jungle ’which not only brushed up their learning of the concept of Describing Words but also invoked their listening skills. The concept of This/That& These/Those were also introduced. The children had a gala time presenting the puppet show which they learnt during the integration of Dramatics with Verbal Linguistic multiple intelligence. They understood the difference between analog and digital clock. Students learnt to tell time using the analog clock. During the Math-Science and Art Integration Week, students made an analog clock using paper plates which they used to tell the time in class. They also made a beautiful calendar and learnt how to mark a special day on it. The students performed an activity by using their hands as minute and hour hands to tell the time. The concept of data handling was taught by using picture graphs and how to organize the data. EVS In EVS lesson, students understood the need and importance of transportation by way of class discussion and watching videos. As a class activity, they drew different modes of transport and understood their differences. The safety rules were explained using various examples and as part of a group task they made beautiful posters of safety rules which was part of Math –Science and Art Integration Week. Students also started their inquiry into the topic ‘Communication by a ‘Telephone’ game where everybody sat in a circle and talked to their partners based on a situation slip given to them. They also learnt about different means of communication. ICT Students understood the different parts of paint window and basic tools in MS-Paint. They also learnt how to save the paint file and open a previously saved file. ART & POTTERY In Art class, the students drew a ship in an ocean and coloured with pastel and pencils. They also drew and coloured a clock and made a paper boat and coloured. In Clay modelling class they made fish and boats using slabs made of natural clay. Robotics Unit Topic: FLOATING AND SINKING Activity 4: SAIL OR DROWN AWAY In this session, students studied the effect on the surface area of an object when it is dropped in the water, they explored different ways to make a material float. They also studied about the design process to create a dense but floatable object by investing that a clay ball sinks in water but by increasing the surface area of clay by creating a ship out of the same and observed the difference. Activity 5: Maker session( Sail Boat Challenge - Day 1 & 2) In this session, students recalled the properties of an object which make it sink or float. Introduction to the problem statement- Can they cross a river without using any mode of transport. Students were given the challenge to design and build a boat by recalling all the properties of the object that can float and hold the weight of 5 coins. They first designed the 2D sketch of the boat and listed out the material required to create a boat and then they made a boat and tested in water. Lifeskills “RESPECT” is one of the important soft skills in life skills. To support the better understanding and learning students watched a video. The class discussion was held on what students understand by the word respect. How do they observe it globally?This facilitated them to treat others the way they want others to treat them. They were then asked to recollect and draw any 4 objects/things that they saw during the tour which was later discussed in class. The discussion led to their understanding of 2D and 3D shapes and students shared the differences between them. The ‘Mystery bag’ activity added real ‘Mystery’ where students were asked to identify the shape by touching the object from the mystery bag. This added the fun element to their learning. Students also had fun making colourful patterns using ‘Rangometry’ kit from Math lab which also made them understand the various patterns formed using different sizes, shapes and colour. EVS In their EVS lessons, students understood what is ‘Shelter’ and its importance.They also learnt about the different types of houses (Kutcha House and Pucca House). The story of “The Three Little Pigs” was shown to them on the smart board in which three types of houses using hay, wood and bricks were shown. Students made a beautiful representation of house using ice-cream sticks. Post this, they discussed and shared their views about different rooms in a house, their utilities and importance of keeping their house clean during ‘Circle time’. Students were taken on school tour to a construction site within the school premises to show different materials used to make buildings (cement, iron rods, bricks). They also saw pictures of nearby neighbourhood services (Bank, Hospital, Post Office, Fire station, Police Station) were shown to them and they attempted a worksheet related to it. ICT This month in their ICT lessons, students learnt step by step how to switch on and switch off a computer when they visited the computer lab. They learnt how to resize, restore, minimize and maximize a window. They continued to practice typing using tux typing software. The common properties of multiplication were discussed, where the product remains same irrespective of the numbers changing the order.Group method of multiplication was taught to memorize multiplication facts and to form multiplication equation using the method. Students played Bingo game to memorize multiplication tables in a fun way. They played with playdough balls and formed the multiplication arrays. They also practiced word problems in their notebooks. EVS In sync with the theme of the month, ‘Food’, students shared their knowledge about various types of food during quality circle time. They discussed about the sources of food. They wrote about their favourite food item and its ingredients and then they discussed its health benefits. Students were divided into 5 food groups and each group sorted the pictures of their group food items. Students were taught about the basic food manners during the lunch break. They also understood the importance of washing hands before and after meal. ICT The students learnt about the computer keyboard, different types of keys – Alphabet keys, Number keys, Special keys. They applied their understanding by practicing using these keys to type few lines on Word Pad. They also compared different keyboards like the piano, the harmonium and the computer keyboard. Activity 2 : Density of object : - Students explored about the properties of an object and understood which object sinks and which floats. This was done using different objects, different material, different sizes and different weight. ENGLISH The Lesson-‘Toys’ was introduced with a ‘Show & Tell’ activity where the children brought their favourite toys & also spoke a few lines to describe them. This was conducted to simultaneously introduce the concept of ‘Describing Words’. The children completed the unit with focus on individual reading & comprehension. Dolch list was given to the children & Oral drills of the Dolch Words were taken up regularly in the class as it helped the children achieve reading fluency in the English Language. ‘Verb Wall’ took the attention of young learners as they wrote a lot of ‘Action Words’& pasted them on the Word Wall created in the class. This was done to foster the concept of ‘Action Words’. The Choral English Recitation on ‘Five Little Seeds’ gave an opportunity to our budding orators to brush up their oratorical skills. The activity ‘Envirophilia’ witnessed our young artists who came clad in greens talk about the significance of plants and nature in their lives. This activity saw the integration of English Language & EVS for the Subject Integration Week-19th-23rd August. HINDI छात्रों को उ मात्रा का वीडियो दिखाते हुए “उ” मात्रा का परिचय दिया गया और इसका उच्चारण सिखाया गया | सब बच्चों ने गुलाब के प्रतिरूप को सजाया | छात्रों ने इससे दो और तीन अक्षर वाले शब्द लिखते हुए वाक्य रचना की | उन्होंने भित्ति पत्र की मदद से “उ” की मात्रा से नए-नए शब्दों का निर्माण किया | श्वेतपट्ट पर छात्रों ने शब्द निर्माण किया जिससे उनका पुनः अभ्यास हुआ | छात्रों ने “विषय एकीकरण भाषा सप्ताह” में कविता का हाव-भाव के साथ उत्तम प्रदर्शन किया | बच्चों को “उ” व “ऊ” मात्रा का अंतर बताते हुए “ऊ” मात्रा का उच्चारण सिखाया गया | सब बच्चों ने झूले के प्रतिरूप में अपनी कल्पना के रंग भरे और दो और तीन अक्षर वाले शब्द लिखते हुए वाक्य रचना की | छात्रों का “इ” मात्रा का श्रुतलेख लिया गया जिससे उनका मात्रा का ज्ञान सुदृढ हो सकें | छात्रों की “उ” व “ऊ” ““मात्रा की यात्रा” बहुत ही आनंदायक रही | MATHEMATICS Students learnt to add the numbers with carryover by using place value blocks. They also learnt to solve the story sums in their Mathematics lessons. The concept of Subtraction was introduced as a take away process by using classroom objects. They were introduced to ‘Subtraction terms’ by using vocabulary cards. Subtraction was taught by two methods ‘counting backward’ and ‘counting forward’ by using number line. Students played ‘Snakes and Ladders’ game to develop the concept and enjoyed learning math the fun way. EVS Students went for a nature walk and studied about the different types of plants and parts of plants. They interviewed the school gardener and learnt a lot about plants and process of growing the plants and recorded their observations. They also understood about the “Life cycle of plants” through a class discussion based on their observations during nature walk. On 14th August students also took part in making ‘Seed bombs’ and understood the process and importance of growing plants. During the Subject Integration Week students came dressed as trees, shrubs and herbs and spoke about their various uses. INDIAN MUSIC With festivals galore, Music is a way to express our feeling and emotions connecting the festivals to festival spirits through Music. Our little musicians/singers prepared hard for their Special assembly planned during the Subject integration week. Everybody was held spell bound by the prayer song sung in proper rhythm and sur by our little singers. In Sangeet 4 all program, students practiced singing a new song 'Railgadi' and other class activities like vocal warm up exercises, rhythm clapping and animal choir. All these activities are helping the students hone the quality of their singing. DRAMA Students of Grade 1 learnt various forms of acting in the drama lessons. They learnt how to emote different gestures, postures and moods through body language and facial expressions. The ‘Shepherd and Wolf” story helped the students to display laughter, anger and sadness emotions through the story in the form of a role play in class. During the Subject integration week, the students performed a dance drama on Janmashtami and Eidgah. Their performance was appreciated and applauded by everyone in the audience. ART & POTTERY Students of Grade 1 in sync with the theme for the month ‘Plants’ learnt how to draw the National flower “Lotus”. In addition they also learnt to draw the national tree. They learnt different elements of colouring using colour pencils and oil pastels and are learning to enhance their colouring and shading skills. The students also made clay pen stands for all teachers to be gifted on Teacher’s Day. ICT The students learnt about computer mouse and its parts – left mouse button, right mouse button and scroll button. In addition, they also learnt the functions of mouse and how to drag and drop text and images using single click and double click. Students also practiced their typing skills. They learnt how to use shape tools to draw in MS Paint. LIFE SKILLS In their Life Skill lessons, students strengthened their ability to demarcate and protect their personal space. Students attempted a worksheet which helped them understand that they are the owners of their own. They observed through an illustrated example of how even animals protect themselves and saty safe and shared examples of how they can be safe. The session concluded by them understanding that it is OK to say NO, when in trouble they shout NO loudly-GO AWAY from that person/place- TELL someone trusted. ROBOTICS Unit Topic: Exploring Our Skeletal System - MAKER SESSION Challenge : In this session, students were introduced to a problem statement with the help of some videos and images to find out ways to design and build a complete Skeletal system with movable joints in arms and legs using ‘Straw it Kit’. he main focus of maker session is to see what students can actually think of building after learning the basic concepts about human skeleton. ENGLISH The month of July started with the launch of a month long ‘ Fables Fiesta’ - A Reading Fiesta to inculcate the habit of reading from the very early years. This Reading Program saw students develop reading habit by reading the stories sent to them every day and writing a story report on their own. The month also witnessed the Spell Bee Finale wherein the children participated with great zeal & enthusiasm. As a part of the educational field trip, the students went for ‘The Lion King’ – a movie which was completely in sync with the month’s theme ‘Animals’, post which students made flash cards based on the movie & wrote two lines on it as a part of the class activity. To introduce the VIBGYOR concept students made a rainbow colouring activity where they learnt the names of the VIBGYOR colours while integrating Verbal Lingustics with Visual Art. Students enjoyed singing & dancing to the tunes of the VIBGYOR song, specially composed for the reinforcement of the concept. As a part of an extended activity students went for a nature walk to explore more about ‘A Rainy Day’. They spotted few small puddles, different kinds of insects and had lot of fun by listening to the pitter patter sound made by the rain drops. The activity transformed into guided writing on ‘A Rainy Day’. To teach the concept of Articles, the story of 'Article Brothers' was narrated in the class. Students even enacted the story in a form of a Role Play which enabled them to recapitulate the concept of the articles ‘a’ and ‘an’. In the second week addition was introduced by using classroom objects and place value blocks. Students learnt to identify Addition keywords for like more and total were used to enhance their mathematical vocabulary. Students played block games to develop addition skills. The concepts of regrouping in tens and ones were taught by using place value blocks. EVS Students learnt and spoke about their families during circle time to develop their communication and conversational skills. They understood the family structures and the terms Nuclear and Joint family. The topic ‘Animals’ was introduced by storytelling sessions in which the students played the role of different animals and they spoke about special features of those animals . They also collected pictures of wild and domestic animals and made a beautiful collage. ART & POTTERY Students made paper tigers in their Art lessons. They were given cut-outs of the body parts of tiger and they strategically assembled and did crayon colouring. During the Pottery lessons, students learnt to make an elephant head with trunk, attaching ears and eyes to complete their elephant head model. INDIAN MUSIC Students came back rejuvenated after the extended summer break to learn more in the Sangeet4all program. They practised class welcome song, vocal warm- up स, रे. ग, body game, class exit song, rhythm clapping, jungle song, new Train song and an animal choir in the class. This activity made the students understand how to start and stop and follow the instructions in a choir. WESTERN MUSIC Students learnt various songs this month, to name a few - Greeting song, Clock song, Dididi dong the ding (action song), Wind song and Praise song. Students thoroughly enjoyed learning new songs in the western music class. PHYSICAL EDUCATION Students started to work on their gross motor skills of static and dynamic balance. In the process different implements were used which would challenge them to develop good kinaesthetic sense and a better sense of how to control their body and also improve their eye-hand coordination. They also got started on their swimming and gymnastics classes where they got to know about skills such as bubbling under the water, kicking in freestyle, front float and Forward roll, Stretching and leg opening, turns and jumps respectively. ICT Students were taken for a visit to music room to know what is keyboard and made connection with the keyboard and parts of computer. They also visited the Computer lab where they understood the different parts of computer and its features. They were excited to learn and started to learn typing on the software named Tux typing. DRAMA Students learnt various forms of acting in drama classes, like mood, gesture, posture, facial expressions - happiness, anger, sorrow with the help of various stories and their characters such as the king and the parrot, dhobi's donkey, bullock and the lion etc. LIFE SKILLS During Life Skill lessons, students built their confidence by understanding about their safe circle. They were taught how they can help themselves and be safe without getting anxious and afraid. They made a personal illustrative chart “People I Can Go To” with their picture on it and wrote the names of the people they can go to for help. The safe people could be family member or a non-family member. Students are quite adventurous and sometimes get into petty conflicts. To avoid these conflicts students learnt how they can protect themselves and be harmless on playground by observing hazardous things around them. These skills can help students in avoiding careless mishaps and accidents. After all, playtime is all about exploring, learning and enjoying without getting hurt. ROBOTICS During their Robotics lessons, students made a human skeleton using 'Straw-bees' kit. This whole activity made them understand how skeleton gives shape to our body. They also tested the strength of the straw bones by putting weight on it to see what happened. They connected this to the real life to see what would happen if there was more pressure laid on the bones. Important Events in the month of July 2019 English The concept of Singular and Plural was introduced to students with the help of the story ‘Unity is Strength’. Understanding of the lesson ‘My Family’ was done as a Role Play where students were made to enact as members of the family to understand the role and importance of every member of the family.The first ‘Spell Bee Wizard’ Competition was held on 15th May,2019. The competition was split in 2 rounds. There were 5 semi-finalists from both the sections competed for entry into the final round. The Finale round is scheduled to be in the month of July 2019. Students had a grand time in the class party celebrating their last day of school before the summer vacation. Hindi छात्रों को आ की मात्रा का अभ्यास करवाया गया उन्हें आ मात्रा से दो और तीन अक्षर वाले शब्द, चित्र सहित लिखवाए गए | छात्रों को गतिविधि के माध्यम से आ मात्रा से आने वाले पारिवारिक सदस्यों के नाम लिखवाए गए, जैसे :- चाचा, नाना, माता आदि | छात्रों ने आ मात्रा से आने वाले शरीर के अंगों का चित्र के माध्यम से ज्ञान प्राप्त किया जैसे :- गाल, गला, हाथ आदि | इससे उन्हें यह भी ज्ञात हुआ, कि कैसे मात्रा के स्थान परिवर्तन से शब्दों का अर्थ बदल जाता है जैसे :- गाल-गला | छात्रों से आ मात्रा के उच्चारण के साथ-साथ वाक्य रचना भी सीखी | छात्रों को आ मात्रा की यात्रा करने में बहुत आनंद आया | इससे उनके पठन-लेखन कौशल के साथ-साथ शब्दकोश में भी वृद्धि हुई | Math The concept of ‘Ordinal numbers’ was introduced with the help of a stair-case game where students had to jump on to the correct stair when an ordinal number was called out. This was further strengthened by learning the spelling of ordinal numbers from 1 to 10 and number names from 1 to 40 through flash cards. Students understood the concept of place value of Tens & Ones with the help of place value blocks and classroom objects. Last week of the school session, saw the children revising concepts of Number systems done till date in their notebooks . EVS Students learnt the functions of sense organs as a class activity using themselves as a resource and reiteration of the functions of sense organs with the help of flash cards. The concept of cleanliness was done as a class discussion where students shared what they do to maintain a clean surrounding. Good manners & Good habits were discussed as part of the topic. Students also understood that there are clothes for different seasons. Art & Pottery Students were super excited to make something special for Mother’s day and made a ‘paper crown’ for their mommies. They were taught how to draw the outline of the crown with the help of the Art facilitator. They had fun pasting the HEART that symbolises the love they had for their mothers. They also wrote a message for their moms on the eve of Mother’s day. ICT Students understood the uses of Computer through a class discussion. They were very aware of the various uses of computer and shared many points like computers are used to listen to music, playing games, watching movies, booking tickets etc that were given by our smart and observant children. Further to this discussion, the students also learnt about places where computers were used by visiting places in school and through flashcards. Drama Students had an amazing time in their Drama classes by learning to express different moods such worried, happy and being surprised. This was furthered when children learnt to use the expressions learnt by enacting them through the story ‘A Poor Brahmin’s Dream’ and ‘The Cunning Snake’. Physical Education Students continued to work on their gross motor skills by throwing and catching a ball. In this process, different implements were used which challenged them to develop good kinesthetic sense and also improve their eye-hand coordination. Students also played some recreational games and cooperative games like Ice & water, Tom & Jerry and Relay races etc to help them improve their Social skills. Indian Music In the month of May students are practising welcome song, vocal warm-up exercises singing स,रे,ग,म body game and class exit song, rhythm clapping (T,KE, DHI, MI), jungle song and Natkhat chuha song. Students also made an animal choir in the class which made them understand when to start and stop when singing in a choir. Western Music Children the clock song (grandfather clock say ding dong), rhythm song(dal roti rajma chawal) and also a beautiful action song (Mercy is falling is falling) an interesting and fun filled music composition. DANCE Students were exposed to the fundamental movements of hands. They also learnt the foot work of Kathak in Tin taal. The basic nine expressions were taught through games and activities. Some glimpses of student's activities ENGLISH: The concept of vowels & consonants was taught with the help of singing Vowels & Dancing Consonants activity. The children wore masks to add fun & drama to it. Spell bee was introduced & conducted in the class & spell master badges were given to motivate the children. Children participated in a JAM session with the help of Noun Props where they spoke impromptu about their favourite Noun Prop, which reinforced the concept of Noun & further helped in building their communication & presentation skills HINDI: छात्रों ने स्वर व व्यंजन का पुनः अभ्यास किया। उन्होंने दो , तीन और चार अक्षरों को जोड़कर नए अमात्रिक शब्द का निर्माण करना सीखा। उन्होंने जाना कि कैसे अक्षरों को जोड़कर शब्द और शब्दों को जोड़कर वाक्य बनते हैं। छात्रों को अक्षरों के फ़्लैश कार्ड देकर शब्द बनवाए गए। इस गतिवीधि के माध्यम से उनके शब्दकोषमें भी वृद्धि हुई। छात्रों को तुकांत शब्दों ( नल , फल, चल, पल ) का ज्ञान हुआ। छात्रों के पठान व लेखन कौशल का विकास हुआ। छात्रों ने अक्षरों की दुनिया से बाहर शब्दों की एक नयी दुनिया में प्रवेश किया। छात्रों को वास्तविक वस्तुएं (चावल , राजमा,आम,अनार,दाल) दिखाते हुए 'आ' मात्रा का परिचय दिया गया और उन्हें बताया गया की कैसे मात्रा के स्थान परिवर्तन से एक शब्द का अर्थ बदल जाता है। जैसे : कल - काल - काला MATHS: The Math lesson started with a basic recap of numbers that they have learnt in their previous grade. They learnt to count numbers up to 100 with the help of ganit mala and number beads. Students understood that every number has a place – ones and tens, through place value blocks and flash cards. Taking their learning forward, students learnt to compare numbers and identified the number patterns between numbers. Students enjoyed making number bonds using play-doh and number hop game. These activities kept our students engaged and learning a fun way. EVS: Students introduced themselves in the class and wrote about themselves in the worksheet “All about me”. They identified different parts of the body and their function. Understanding of the 5 sense organs was done through a walk across the school premises and nature walk in the school garden. They had fun participating in a sense organ song that reiterated the importance of sense organs and their functions ART & POTTERY: Students were introduced to art materials and the techniques of using them. Children learnt how to make profile of a human face and basic human body structure. They also made a poster drawing to celebrate the importance of Earth day. INDIAN MUSIC: In the month of April students learned about Indian music under the sangeet4all program in by of activities planned like class welcome song, vocal warm up, sa re ga ma body game and class exit song, rhythm clapping, jungle song and an animal choir. These activities made the students understand how to start and stop and follow the instructions while singing in a choir . WESTERN MUSIC: In Sangeet 4 all music lesson, kids have learned songs in various categories - greeting, jungle, ding ding-dong and bye-bye song. They had a wonderful time playing instruments as well. PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Students had a great time when they come to their PE classes. This month they learnt the nuances of throwing the ball and catching. They were divided into 2 teams. Zig Zag ball rally with a combination of both throwing and catching was done to stress the importance of timing and focus. Students thoroughly enjoyed this game where they had fun at the same time competitive. DRAMA: Students learnt various acting tips to develop their acting skills. Story telling sessions was enjoyed thoroughly by the children. ‘’Rabbit in the jungle’’, ‘’Bholu and friends in the jungle’’ ‘’A Donkey and the cunning Fox’’, ‘’Puppet show’’ were some stories which helped the kids learn the different moods of the story. LIFE SKILLS: School Counsellor built rapport with students. Students understood the counselor is there to help / guide the students resolve conflicts, time management, behavioural issues among other things. Students also acquired that they are all unique and have individual differences their appearance does not matter in developing relationships in life. The same concept was taught to them by narrating story “A lonely Scarecrow” and “The elephant and sparrow”. Student also learnt to practice of mindfulness like be a bee, lazy eight, star breathing and many more. This would help them to overcome feelings like anxiety, anger and fear. ICT: Students were taken on a school tour to make them differentiate between natural and man-made things in the environment. They made a drawing of one natural and one man-made object to understand the difference between these two. They learnt about man-made machines and how they work like some work on fuel, some work on electricity,etc. They also learnt about computer as an electronic machine and what are the different parts of a computer.
