The ‘Mystery bag’ activity added real ‘Mystery’ where students were asked to identify the shape by touching the object from the mystery bag. This added the fun element to their learning. Students also had fun making colourful patterns using ‘Rangometry’ kit from Math lab which also made them understand the various patterns formed using different sizes, shapes and colour. EVS In their EVS lessons, students understood what is ‘Shelter’ and its importance. They also learnt about the different types of houses (Kutcha House and Pucca House). The story of “The Three Little Pigs” was shown to them on the smart board in which three types of houses using hay, wood and bricks were shown. Students made a beautiful representation of house using ice-cream sticks. Post this, they discussed and shared their views about different rooms in a house, their utilities and importance of keeping their house clean during ‘Circle time’. Students were taken on school tour to a construction site within the school premises to show different materials used to make buildings (cement, iron rods, bricks). Unit Topic: FLOATING AND SINKING Activity 3: DROP ME In this session, students explored about floating and sinking property of objects having different density by investigating that an object will float if the density of an object is less than the density of a liquid by dropping different types of objects in the same liquid. Students took water in a container and dropped all the objects one by one to observe which object floats and which object sinks. Activity 4: SAIL OR DROWN AWAY In this session, students studied the effect of the surface area of an object when it is dropped in the water, they explored different ways to make a material float. They also studied about the design process to create a dense but floatable object by investing that a clay ball sinks in water but by increasing the surface area of clay by creating a ship out of the same amount of clay and observe the testing.
